GRAND TEATRET Located in Mikkel Bryggers Gade, just off Copenhagen's famous Strøget and only a few steps from City Hall Square, Grand Teatret is one of Denmark's most iconic and historic cinemas. Established in 1913, it has been a cornerstone of Copenhagen's film culture for more than a century.

Designed by renowned architect Anton Rosen as part of the Palace Hotel complex, the cinema combines historic elegance with modern facilities. Today, Grand Teatret features six screens with nearly 800 seats, making it one of Denmark's leading venues for arthouse cinema, international premieres, and film festivals.

Recognized for both its cultural significance and architectural beauty, Grand Teatret has been named one of the world's 50 most beautiful cinemas by Time Out. Today, it remains one of Copenhagen's most beloved destinations for film lovers, offering a unique cinematic experience in the heart of the city.

The cinema also operates its own distribution company, Camera Film, which brings carefully selected international films to Danish audiences and is represented annually at the Cannes Film Festival

Grand Teatret has long been dedicated to showcasing outstanding European and international cinema while championing emerging filmmakers and distinctive new voices. Many acclaimed directors, including Thomas Vinterberg, Nicolas Winding Refn, and Lukas Moodysson, found an early audience at Grand Teatret before achieving international recognition.
